Berkshire & Oxfordshire Massage operates in the field of complementary and alternative health sports medicine. More specifically the business was setup to provide a mobile sports massage and remedial massage service to the residents of Reading and the surrounding areas of Berkshire & Oxfordshire. The mobile sports massage therapy service operates up to 20 miles from its base in Caversham near Reading for general appointments and further afield for event work. To date Terry has provided pre and post event sports massage in support of a number of charitable events in the Reading area, including the 2010 Reading half marathon.

Berkshire & Oxfordshire Massage was founded by complimentary and alternative therapist Terry Davis in 2006. Terry has been heavily involved in sporting activities for the majority of his life and has gained personal experience and knowledge of being treated for and treating sports injuries. His current sporting activities include running, mountain biking, rowing, hiking and kayaking with the Reading Canoe Club. He also holds qualifications in a number of physical therapy techniques including, sports massage, holistic massage and remedial massage techniques, such as soft tissue release and myofascial release. Besides qualifications Terry also holds full memberships with a number of professionally recognized associations including, the Sports Massage Association (SMA) and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC). As part of Terry’s membership requirements he required complete regular continual professional development (CPD), which helps to ensure that he is aware of the latest developments in sports therapy related research and treatment protocols.

To date Terry has successfully treated numerous patients in Reading and the surrounding areas of Berkshire and Oxfordshire by utilizing a mixture of sports massage and remedial massage techniques. He has treated patients from all walks of life, from office workers to professional athletes all with varying muscular and skeletal related aliments. The majority of patients that he has seen to date have been interested in pain management and have been suffering from neck, shoulder or back pains. The associated muscular pain and tension has often been the cause of headaches too, which have resolved over the course of treatment. Such aliments are frequently postural related and respond extremely well to sports massage and remedial massage treatments. Terry is a strong believer in educating patients regarding postural issues and thus “self help”, which can vastly reduce the need for subsequent treatment. Other specific conditions or ailments that Terry has treated include Sciatica, Tendonitis, Plantar Fasciitis and various types of knee pain.
